Never underestimate the importance of vacuuming your carpets regularly. It will improve the air quality in your home, keep many stains from forming and extend the life of your carpet.
It’s important to vacuum visible dirt, but more importantly, you should vacuum slowly and allow it the time to collect the particles you cannot see. This will help improve the air quality in your home by removing allergens, pet dander, etc. (A vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter is a must!)
Vacuuming frequently will also help keep the dirt getting ground into the carpet. Once loose particles begin to pile up, something as little as a few drops of condensation from a glass of water or can create a nasty stain on your carpet.
High traffic areas on your carpet tend to flatten out and gather more dirt, especially near entryways. Frequent vacuuming will help the carpet pile from crushing making high traffic areas less noticeable thus extending the life of your carpet.
Carpet should be vacuumed at least once a week. High traffic areas and homes with children or pets should be vacuumed much more frequently, in some cases every day.
Unfortunately, even daily vacuuming has its limitations. You should schedule a professional deep clean at twice a year. If you live in the Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, or surrounding area in Florida, give Carpet Doctor a call. We’ll make your carpets look great again.
